I just moved to Ottawa, and I'm looking for a short-or possibly longer-term stay starting from this coming July 1st or sooner, and was wondering if anyone knows of someone who might have a spare room or space they would like to sublet, or who is in need of a house-sitter, etc.
I'm a UBC alumni in my thirties. Quiet, clean, and non-smoking, and looking for others with similar preferences. (Though if someone smokes occasionally outside the apartment only, that could work.)
Safe, and ideally not too far from downtown, and close to bus lines. I really enjoy being in residential areas that are close to scenic areas, as well as independent shops / cafes, that are still relatively close to downtown (like Westboro, which is close to the beach). I also love Westboro because it's close to Hintonburg. Open to other areas too though.
I'm from back East originally, and came to Vancouver to go to UBC.
I also held the lease for and looked after a two-bedroom apartment (which I have shared with roommates) in Richmond, Greater Vancouver for over seven and a half years, and have an excellent landlord reference. I just moved back East to Ottawa, Ontario at the end of this May.
Interested in renting a furnished room or subletting someone's apartment for at least two weeks -- though ideally at least a month or two. I know it's a pretty short time-frame (though it could end being longer if it works well and it's available), but hope someone might be interested.
Thanks so much!
Please note: though this only applies to a few people, unfortunately it's necessary -- I will not respond to sexual harassment of any kind, or propositions other than genuine rooms or places for rent, with the exception of perhaps genuine friendly messages unrelated to anything sexual or any type of underlying motive. These messages make me feel incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe.
I took a risk posting a picture to help give people a better sense of me, and garner more positive options. (Something I would not normally do, but I decided to this time to help with my search.) There was no other reason. If you send me these kinds of unwanted messages, I will most likely report you to Craigslist, and possibly the police.
